Does anyone know the way to PalmSprings

You know your lost when your in a ride with 10,000 people and your by yourself. This happened after about an hour into the ride today. So I rode the next 3 hours totally lost, after getting directions from a few different people, I found my way home. So, the 100 mile ride turned into a 85 mile ride.....I was mad, mad, mad....
I will post the rest of the pictures tomorrow.

I have tried to start todays report 3 times. I am so tired I can't really think straight. Just got off the phone with Jen and Linda, I guess I used a bad word yesterday.....sorry.
Today was a late start at the pool with a 3000 yard workout. Then a hard 40 miles on the bike, we were joined by a pro female biker. She kicked the pace and just charged. Once we got off the bike we went for a tempo 40 min. run. That was the hard one for me, the day's finally caught up to me on the run.
These are some pics of yesterday's ride. We topped out at 6500 feet.....Love the snow...

I am out to bed.

Floyd Freakin Landis

You got to be fu**ing kidding me, that's what I said when Floyd (yes I can call him Floyd) swung around to us. Matt and I tried to stay with Macca and Kerry on a 2 hour beyond Catagory climb. We lasted 7 min. and then they took off. Matt and I stayed about 100 yards behind them. We were about 12 min. into the ride and this roadie just finished taking a piss and road up to Matt and I. I looked at him and he said "hey guy's, how are you doing today". My response was "you got to be fucking kidding me". He asked our names and then we talked for about 5 min. and he asked who was that up the road. We told him it was Macca and Kerry, he said I'm going to say hi but I will be back to ride with you guys. He took off in a 54/15 gear.....He made up the 100 yards in about 30 seconds.

There's more but I got to go swim, bike, and run today.

Here is a cool pic that Floyd wanted to take of me...............

Swim and Run

Sorry the pics are backwards, can't figure out how to change it...enjoy!
Today started out with an early morning swim at the aquatic center in Palm Springs. Very nice 25 yard pool, with a little snow on top of the mountains. All seemed ok with the morning, then I asked Mitch what lane I should be in, he said lane 2. Well after the warm up Kerry and Macca ( who was in lane 1) had me come into their lane. Shit, this is going to hurt. And hurt is did, Macca and Kerry had me stay on Kerry's feet as long as I could. The workout was a 1000 warmup followed by a 500 mixed yardage, then the main set was 1X500 2X250 5X100 we did that 3X. I was hanging on for as long as I possible could, that would be anywhere between 250 and 150 yards. Kerry put in 34 seconds on me in the last 500, ouch! The best part of this is they were showing me things I never thought of before.

Now for the run, Mitch said it starts with a little up hill then it flattens out, well that was bullshit. This hill went up to heaven, you can see it in the picture, my calfs were killing me.....(sorry Kevin, he is my PT). The finish of the run was great with Kerry, Macca and I finishing the run with about 10 min. of flat trail. Enjoy the pics.

Yet another hard day

It's after dinner and I am ready to sleep. Today started with a run then a bike. The run started with an easy pace with the usual company, Chris, Kerry, Matt, Louis, and Coach Doug (my roommate) We went out 30 min. then turned around, it was easy then Macca said " o.k. bous, 5x2min. at 1/2 IM pace........well it was his 1/2 IM pace, I was dying by the 3rd one. By the time the 4th one hit I was dying and Macca was helping me through it telling me to relax, drop my shoulders, keep focusing on the back of Kerry's shirt. I got through the 5th one and was so fricken happy it was over. That is when Macca looked at me and said, we are going to do 1 more because you don't want to????? What the "F" was he thinking. So BAM, we do one more I will not let these guys break me....I hold on and finish the workout. I was trashed.

After brunch we hop on the bikes and do a 2 hour ride in the local hills, wen went from 3500 feet to 5500 feet, I rode hard the first 2 hours.......Then we rested for a couple hours went to dinner and now I am going to bed.. Talk tomorrow

Oh shit, I forgot, Macca presented me a poster at dinner for the run. I took a pic of it and I will be bringing it home with me.

Kill the bike

I forgot the damn camera for the ride, it was beautiful.. We rode up to Box Canyon, it was about 5 hours of riding. The first 2 hours we kept it easy then as soon as we got to the base of the hills..........BAM! We take off, it's Macca, Kerry, Mitch (the head coach), Matt, Me and Scott (the other coach) we start taking turns pulling up the canyon, it's between a 5-15 second pull. The coaches go back to check on everyone else and we went like that at full speed, well Matt, Kerry and myself we going full speed. Macca was singing for us and still talking like he was just cruising. After about 20 minutes we slow a bit and and turn around and head back at full speed, around 40-50 mph.
After the ride we did a 25 min. transition run that of course was at times sub 6 pace....I am tired but I do get a massage tonight after dinner.
Off to dinner...

Way too hard

The day started out early with a 8 a.m. wake up call (got home at 2 a.m). We had a 2 hour run and a 2 hour bike scheduled and went to Joshua Tree and ran to the "gold shack". So the group started to run and Macca and the other pro at the camp Kerry Clauson had to use the potty. Matt (another camper that just graduated from Med school in Australia) and I waited for them to finish up and started a 20 min. sprint to catch up with the lead guys. The elavation is 4500 feet and I felt every feet of it. The run was up hill into the head wind, and we are flying. We finally catch the group in front of us, it was just in time as I was ready to blow. We cruised a few more minutes then hit it again.....HARD. So Kerry starts laughing saying we got to slow down.......then Macca laughs and takes off....lucky for me it was just a few hundred yards. We ended up at the turn around and made the way back down hill. Matt had a Garmin and at points of the run we are going between 4:45-4:50 mile pace. You did read that right, my body is JACKED up!!!!!
I am off to sleep, Oh I almost forgot no bike today because of 50-60 mph winds. It's just like New Zealand, I am having flash backs.
